Teaching in Kinmen

Kinmen is a small island with a surprisingly large number of schools—over 20 in total. Most schools are small, with average class sizes of 10–15 students, though some classes may be even smaller (5–10 students) or larger (20–30 students). Most Kinmen ETAs co-teach textbook-based English classes and solo-teach culture classes, although teaching arrangements can vary by school.

Many Kinmen ETAs become deeply involved in their school communities. Beyond the classroom, they often participate in school and cultural activities, attend competitions to cheer on students, and frequently run into students in daily life. For prospective ETAs who are eager to truly get to know their students and become part of a close-knit community, Kinmen is an ideal placement.
