Teaching and Living
Since December 2018, the government has set the goal to develop Taiwan into a bilingual nation by 2030. Most counties start to change the education layout into CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) or Bilingual program. Taipei City government started the program from local elementary and junior high schools. Therefore, Taipei ETAs will assist these schools mainly.
As one of Asia's leading metropolises, Taipei prides itself on its worldly and convenient lifestyle with its plethora of cuisines and easy public transportation system. Take in a view of the city on Elephant Mountain at the end of one subway line, or enjoy a walk along Tamsui Pier at another. Moreover, several day hikes and popular tourist destinations like Jiufen and Pingxi are located just outside the city.
Taipei City provides many opportunities for volunteering. However, some required training before joining and language abilities. ETAs can find some community service besides their school time and get involved with local communities. Here shows some volunteer events that ETAs participated before
Coordinators
Wesley Lin
Hi, I’m Wesley!
Originally from Taichung, I moved to the Taipei to pursue my studies and graduated from National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) with a degree in Education. Before joining Fulbright Taiwan in February 2025, I gained valuable experience in international trade while working at a manufacturing industry in Taichung.
Having lived in Taipei since university, it has truly become my second home. Outside of work, I am a swimming enthusiast, an avid traveler, and a fan of anime and cinema.
Taipei is a vibrant, inclusive city where diverse cultures intersect. As your Taipei Coordinator, I look forward to supporting you in your journey and helping you discover all the wonders this city has to offer.

I’m David. It’s really exciting to have you all here in Taipei, Taiwan. I joined the Fulbright Taipei Team in September, 2025. Prior to that, I received my MA in Asian Studies from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, focusing on Politics of China and Cross-strait Relations. Additionally, I worked at the Taiwan Education Research Program at the Sigur Center of Asian Studies as a Student Project Assistant, served as a teaching assistant for a short-term abroad program, and was a communications intern at the US-China Education Trust.
Taipei is a city that might not be the first on your bucket list, but certainly a hidden gem that awaits for your discovery…
